Helpful Advice for Crafting Minded People

  1. Do not sit on the pincushion (especially if it's still full of pins!). This is painful and embarrassing.

  2. Do not step onto the plastic rulers. They tend to slide and make you fall. This, too, is painful and embarrassing.

  3. Do not trip over your sewing box. This is horribly painful and embarrassing, and you foot will be black and blue for days to come.

Sandy, have you learned some or all of these things as the result of recent experience? I hope not, as it would mean you've suffered a spate of rather painful accidents, but I fear it may be so.

Incidentally, I'm now wondering if sitting on a pincushion is worse than sitting on a tuffet and having a giant spider come up beside you. [Can you tell I'm still working on fairy tales/legends and my mind isn't fully in the real world?]

Having some experience with giant spiders, I can safely say that sitting on a pincushion is much nicer. And yes, the list is the result of recent experience -- but hey, at least I didn't accidentally sew across my own finger. That's something, isn't it? :)

"at least I didn't accidentally sew across my own finger."

Yes, that is a very good thing. My fear of accidentally sewing across my own finger(s) is the reason I avoid sewing machines.
